Lead Pastor

Eddy Mathews

Eddy and his wife, Sandy, are grateful to call Alluwe Baptist Church home. Eddy is currently serving at Alluwe, where September 1, 2026 marked his seventh anniversary as pastor, and he counts it a joy to walk alongside the church family in worship, service, and ministry.

Eddy was raised in rural Rogers County and attended Chelsea Schools. With deep roots in the Chelsea area, he has a genuine love for the people and communities of northeast Oklahoma.

His journey of faith began at Greer Baptist Church, north and east of Chelsea, where he came to know Christ at the age of six. After graduating high school, Eddy entered law enforcement, and in 1996 he surrendered to God's call to preach.

In 2000, while serving on mission in Sudan with The Voice of the Martyrs, Eddy sensed God leading him into full-time ministry and took early retirement from law enforcement to follow that calling.

Since then, Eddy has served churches in both vocational and bivocational ministry, including Greer Baptist, Pleasant Hope Baptist, Utopia Baptist, Calvin First Baptist, and Paoli First Baptist. Through each season, his desire has remained the same: to faithfully preach God's Word, care for people, and point others to Jesus.

In addition to pastoral ministry, Eddy returned to full-time law enforcement in 2012 and continues to serve as a chaplain and Peer Support Director. Whether in the church, the community, or alongside first responders, Eddy's heart is to love God, serve people, and help others know and follow Jesus.

Looking ahead, Eddy's vision for Alluwe Baptist Church is to see the congregation continue growing as a loving, Christ-centered family: one that welcomes neighbors, strengthens believers, serves the community, and shares the hope of Jesus with the next generation.

Associate Pastor

Mike Weygandt

with Brenda Weygandt

Mike has served as Associate Pastor since 2021, where he helps lead through preaching, teaching, discipleship, pastoral care, and outreach. Brenda serves faithfully alongside him, bringing warmth, encouragement, prayer, hospitality, and a relational heart that helps people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Mike and Brenda Weygandt serve together with a genuine love for people and a deep desire to see lives shaped by the hope of Jesus.

Together, Mike and Brenda approach ministry as a team. They believe the church is not just a place to attend, but a family where people can grow in faith, find encouragement, and learn to serve one another. Whether through a sermon, a conversation, a prayer, a meal, or a simple act of care, their heart is to point people to Christ and walk with them in the everyday realities of life.

Their years of ministry and leadership experience have taken them into churches, nonprofit work, international ministry, and service among people facing hardship and persecution. Those experiences have shaped in them a practical, compassionate, and steady approach to ministry. Mike brings leadership, teaching, and vision, while Brenda brings personal care, encouragement, and a ministry of presence that strengthens the people around her.

Mike and Brenda live in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and are grateful for the life God has given them together. Married since 2013, they enjoy their family, including five children and four grandchildren, and consider it a joy to serve the Lord together through the local church. Their prayer is that their ministry would help people feel welcomed, encouraged, and drawn closer to Jesus.
